Ms. Ellarine Brown was born on June 18, 1942 to the late Idora Brown and Jeff Perkins in Winston-Salem, NC. She was affectionately known as "Miss Lorraine". God chose one of the most beautiful flowers out of His garden on March 27, 2014, when He stopped by Oak Forrest Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Ellarine was educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System where she graduated from Atkins High School, Class of 1960. She worked at Paris Dry Cleaners in her early life and was employed by AMP, Inc. from where she retired. She was affiliated with the following organizations: Royalties, Dunleith Avenue Good Neighbors Club, Camel City Elks, and the Blues Street Olde Timers Reunion.
In addition to her parents, Ellarine was preceded in death by her grandson, Plinando O'Neal.
Ellarine leaves to cherish her precious memories her children, Nathan L. (Valerie) Brown, Sherman E. Brown, Vincent O. Brown, and Carvena Brown all of Winston-Salem, NC; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Elaine Shuler and Inez Wilson both of the city; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Ms. Brown will be held at 1pm Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Mars Hill Baptist Church, 1331 East 4
th
Street W-S, NC.
Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Saturday at the Church.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Ms. Lisa Downey, Darryl Blackwell, Calvin Blackwell, Cathy Brown, Sonya Waddell, and the staffs of both Forsyth Medical Center and Oak Forrest Health & Rehabilitation Center.
