Mrs. Ella Mae Simon Moses, 84, of 1851 Maryland Avenue was born March 4, 1927 in Darlington, SC. She passed away Thursday, May 26, 2011 at her residence. She was longtime resident at 2304 Montrose Ave. and a member of Union Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC.
Mrs. Ella Mae was preceded in death by her mother, Katie Simon Thomas; father, Richard Johnson; husband, Paul Moses, Sr.; and sisters, Margaret Blakes, Mary Grantham, Juanita Lockhart, and Susanna Jenkins.
She leaves to cherish her memory her ten children, Paul (Lavonia) Moses, Jr., Ethel Hines, Timothy Moses, Kenneth (Jane) Moses of Columbia, SC, David Moses, Judy (William) Gary, Benjamin Moses, Pamela Moses, Katie (Timothy) Moore, and Valerie (Nathan) Brown; siblings, Dexter McLenden, Willie McLeod, John Henry (Marie) Thomas, Kate Helen (Lazzerie) Kinzer, Robert Thomas, and Corina Lewis; sisters-in-law, Katie Jackson of Winston-Salem, NC and Lucille Moses of Conway, SC; brothers-in-law, Bishop Charlie Jenkins and James Blakes; 43 grandchildren; and a host of great-grands, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Union Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church.
