"Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate"- Proverbs 31: 30-31
Our beloved mother Ms. Ella Louise Crump affectionately known as "Louise" at the age of eighty-four, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Novant Health Kernersville Medical Center, Kernersville NC. Ella was surrounded by her children and family after a battle with illness. Ella was born October 7, 1938, in Wadesboro, North Carolina to the late James and Josephine Richardson. She was the youngest of five children. Ella was married to her late husband Willie Crump, Sr., for twenty-three years. Ella remained devoted to Willie even after his death.
Ella was a faithful member of St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church for seventy years. She took pleasure in worshiping God "in spirit and in truth" and fellowshipping with her church family and others. Without question, Ella was the central figure in the lives of her children and grandchildren. In their eyes, she was all that mattered. They watched her faithfully reading God's written word and sharing His love. Ella's pride, joy, hugs, and unconditional love marked her life and character. Her lasting memories of being a loving mother and grandmother will always be cherished by those who were closest to her. Ella will be missed by her family and others. Ella's compassionate spirit was honored in her career. After attending and completing her education, she worked as a certified nurse assistant at the Baptist Nursing Home; she was known as the strongest nurse when physical demands were needed in care of the patient. Ella also worked at Wake Forest and Forsyth Medical Center. She later received an associate degree in Early Childhood from Forsyth Technical College. Her learned skills were accepted and practiced in both the private and the public-school classrooms.
Ella was preceded in death by her husband Willie Sr.; mother and father; adopted mother, Della McClendon Richardson; sister, Rosa Lee McClendon Gilliam; and two brothers, William and Carl Richardson. Ella leaves to cherish her love and memory, two sons, Willie Crump Jr. (Denice) and Wayne Crump; a daughter, Ennikki Foster (Daniel Sr.); a sister, Rosa Richardson Holland (Cecil); eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Russell Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Friday, January 6, 2023 at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00noon on Friday at the Church.
