Mrs. Ella Mae Bowman Johnson, 81, passed away on May 15, 2007 at the Clemmons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clemmons, NC. She was born on March 7, 1926 in Mocksville, NC to Thomas Edward Bowman and Ella Mae Hall Bowman of Mocksville, NC.
She resided at 2812 Bon Air Avenue in Winston-Salem, NC and was a long-time member of Saint Philips Moravian Church where she was a member of the women's fellowship.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Judson Jefferson Johnson; five brothers and sisters, Catherine Bowman Rhinehart, Lucy Lee Bowman Byrd, Laura Bowman, Clarence Bowman, and Tom Bowman; and her niece, Ethelene Bowman Joyner.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her son, Johnnie L. Johnson and his wife, Mizpah; one granddaughter, Hillary; and a host of loving nephews, nieces, grandnieces, other relatives, and friends.
Homegoing services will be conducted at 11am on Saturday, May 26, 2007 from the Saint Philips Moravia Church with Reverend George Chiddie officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Saturday at the Church.
