Mrs. Elizabeth "Liz" Jones Webb peacefully departed her earthly life on Saturday, August 27, 2022.  Liz was one of four children born to Raleigh Jones and Clarastine Palmer Jones. Born in New York and raised in Mount Airy, NC, she attended public schools in Mount Airy, NC, before attending North Carolina Central University, and Winston Salem State University.

Liz began her professional career with Piedmont Airlines and found her career passion with USAirways (now American Airlines), where she was employed for over 35 years as a Reservationist Supervisor and in other leadership positions.  Liz continued to work as a dedicated teacher and Special Reading teacher for the Winston Salem/Forsyth County Schools.

Liz was an active member of St. Paul Methodist Church where she volunteered in numerous capacities.  She enjoyed membership in her professional organization of women in education, Phi Delta Kappa Incorporated, and her social memberships in the La Fiesta Club.  Elizabeth's hobbies were many and included puzzles and sewing.  She was a phenomenal seamstress, and she could always be found sitting in a chair with her crossword puzzles!

Liz was a very loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  Her kind spirit was evident to all who knew her.  She loved her family and friends beyond measure and her sweet presence will forever live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her!

Liz was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raleigh and Clarastine Jones.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her devoted husband of 44 years, Alfonso "Al" Webb; her only daughter, Brandey Jones, of Clemmons, NC; step-daughter, Val Jean Webb, of Winston-Salem, NC; step-son, Alfonso "Fon" Webb, Jr., of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Aleise Jessup (John), of Winston-Salem, NC; two brothers, James "Jimmy" Jones, of Lewisville, NC, and Reginald "Reggie" Jones (Ann), of Winston-Salem, NC; brother-in-law, Preston Webb, of Winston-Salem; her cherished grandchildren, Sydney Jones, Jordan Jones, Aubrey Jones, Peyton Jones, and Madison Jones, all of Clemmons, NC; step-grandchildren, Dawn Reaves, Cassius Reaves Jr., and Bryan Reaves, all of Winston-Salem, NC; her step great-grandchildren, Leyonie Malone, Davion Reaves, Demarion Reaves, Zaiden Reaves, and Kaylani Baines, all of Winston-Salem, NC; and, a host of nephews, nieces, and other loving relatives and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Friday, September 2, 2022 at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory, Walkertown, NC. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00noon on Friday at the Church.
