Elizabeth "Libby" Carolyn Jones Transou departed this life on Friday, June 12, 2015 after a lengthy illness. She was born January 4, 1946 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Rev. George W. Jones and Dorothy H. Jones. She was a 1963 graduate of Carver High School.

She married Ervin B. Transou on September 16, 1978.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Faye Jones, Elease J. Boyd, and Vivian J. Robinson.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Ervin of the home; devoted, loving daughter and caregiver, Toriee of the home; son, James of the home. two sisters, Susan Jones of the city and Anita J.(Tollison) Wright of Cleveland, OH; two brothers, Sidney (Diane) Jones of Cleveland, OH and Harold (Doris) Jones of the city; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; her in-laws, Charles Robinson, Joseph Transou, Jimmie Transou, Leon Transou and Brenda T. Simmons all of the city, and Pearline T. (Roy) Imes of Rochester, NY; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Saturday at the Chapel.
