Mrs. Elizabeth Harrison, 82, was born August 23, 1935 to John Rubin and Lelia Green in Darlington, South Carolina. She passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018.
She received her GED through night school from Paisley High School in Winston-Salem, NC.
She was employed at Owen Brockway where she served dutifully for seventeen years before retiring on December 31, 1990. Elizabeth enjoyed word find puzzles, watching Walker Texas Ranger, Matlock, and Tyler Perry movies. She was a true matriarch, devoted to spending time with family and opened her home and life to many. Mom was truly blessed and if you asked how she was doing, she would tell you that she was 'too blessed to be stressed." She was preceded in death by her father, John Rubin; mother, Lelia McKay; beloved son, Roderick Harrison; beloved grandson, Damon Tucker; sister, Betty Tedder; and two brothers, Jesse McKay and Prince McKay, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, James Harrison; beloved children, Hattie Adams, Christine Covington, Monica Eller, and Pamela Harrison (Charles); fourteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; four sisters, Lucille McNeil, Louise Tedder, Juanita Tedder, and Lucy Ann Jacob; one brother, Albert McKay; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, January 19, 2018 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Interment will be held at 10:00am Monday, January 22, 2018 in Salisbury National Cemetery.
