Deaconess Elizabeth "Lib" Johnson Evans, 79, was born on July 27, 1945, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to the late Richard and Sally Johnson. She peacefully transitioned on February 13, 2025.
Lib was born and raised in the heart of Winston-Salem, NC in the Happy Hill Gardens. She attended Anderson High School, where she was a proud graduate of the class of 1965. Continuing her education, she furthered her studies at Winston- Salem State University where she laid the foundation for her lifelong pursuit of personal growth.
A devout woman of faith, Lib was an active and dedicated member of the Macedonia Worship Center. Later in life she joined the Union Baptist Church where she remained a devoted member, sharing her love and devotion with her church family until her illness and passing. Lib had a deep love for life. She loved traveling, exploring new places, reading and learning about the world and its different cultures. Above all, Lib cherished her time spent with family, creating lasting memories with those she held dear. Her gentle spirit, calming nature, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Frank Evans; and son, Christopher Sinclair.
