Our beloved mother and grandmother, Elease Britton Nesmith of Winston-Salem, NC was born to Liza Britton and Hastings Britton in Hemingway, SC on July 26, 1918. She departed her earthly life on Friday, March 21, 2008.
She was a faithful member of St. Paul United Methodist Church for 70 years.
Through out her life, she was an inspiration to her family and many friends. She had a loving heart and would frequently put the care of others in front of her own well-being. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Johnny A. Nesmith.
Mrs. Nesmith leaves to cherish fond memories her husband of 73 years, Lonnie McGill Nesmith, Sr. of the home; two sons, Henry Luther (Carol) Nesmith of Philadelphia, PA and Lonnie Lee Nesmith, Jr. of Winston-Salem, NC; a devoted granddaughter, Arleen Gail Nesmith-Glenn of the home; a devoted grandson, Luis Rossell; grandchildren, Stephanie Rossell of Norcross, GA, Lonnie Lee Nesmith, Jr. III., Rodney Nesmith and Beverly Mickle all of Winston-Salem, NC, Deborah McCombs of Hickory, NC; five great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Friday, March 28, 2008 from the St. Paul United Methodist Church with Pastor Donald Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from Noon until 1pm on Friday at the Church.
