Eleanor "Bootney" Shell began life on September 6, 1933 and left to be with God on January 23, 2022.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillie Mae; two sons, Carl and Darrell Shell; and two grandsons, Darryl Lewis and Kendell Shirley.

Eleanor leaves to mourn behind two sons, James and Stepfon Shell; two daughters, Marcelle and Mimi Shell; two brothers, William "Charlie Chin" and Ronald Young; three sisters, Beverly Harriott, Gayle Young, and Lillie Bacote; grandchildren, Michael, Tonico, Jasmine, and Jamal Shell, Jermaine Hayes, Michael, Maniya, Preston, Dominque Shell, Stephon and Steven Goodine, Stephanie Jenkins and Jessica Mitchell, LeDarrell and Leander Crockett, D'Aaron Miller, Jamal Johnson, Trevor Conner, Leander Boyd, and Richard Lewis; cousin, Hattie Wilson; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Russell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
