Eleanor Annette "Net" Mussa was called from her earthly home on November 23, 2014. She was born on March 19, 1941 to the late James & Hazel Burrell. Net was born in Winston-Salem, NC and the family relocated to Baltimore, MD when she was 2 years old.
She attended the Baltimore City School System and later attended Apex Beauty School. She also attended Salisbury State College in Baltimore, MD.
Net was a cosmetologist for over 55 years, of which 48 years were spent in Baltimore, MD where she owned and operated 2 salons and had a host of clients. She also mentored several up and coming beauticians: Sheila, Tina, Angie, etc. Net was very well known in Baltimore because of her hair talents, and being the fun loving, outgoing person that she was.
She moved back to Winston-Salem, NC 7 years ago where she continued her career part-time while entertaining the customers in the salon.
Those left to cherish her memories are her four children, Jackie Burrell, Ralph Redding, Jr. (Fernie), Darnell, and Darryl Redding; six grandchildren, Demetre, Demond, Michelle, Derrick, Darien, and Darryl; four great-grandchildren, Lela, Detryce, Camden, and Nevaeh; one sister, Loretta Mason; two brothers, Warren Burrell and Walter (Bernard) Burrell; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Warren Burrell officiating. The family visitation will be held from 1:30pm until 2pm on Saturday at the Chapel.
