Mr. Edward C. Thompson, 91, was born on June 11, 1933 in Winston-Salem, NC to Andrew and Adele Thompson.  He departed this earthly life on October 30, 2024.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Thompson; and his siblings, Andrew, Jr., Frederick, Edith, Margret, Mary Louise, and Melvina.

Left to cherish his memories are his children, Beverly (Timothy) Murrell, Vernetta Thompson, and Mia (Aaron) Smith; six grandchildren, Ricky, April, and Michael Simington, and Donovan, Kevin, and Brian Brewington; nine great-grandchildren; his brother, Eliott Thompson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, November 8, 2024 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Eastside Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 2:00pm on Saturday at the Church.
