Edward W. Brown, Jr., 70, was born on June 23, 1944 in Winston-Salem, NC to Voohrees and Edward W. Brown, Sr. Edward W. Brown departed this life on Sunday night, August 31, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center following a period of illness.

He attended the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Public Schools and NC A&T University of Greensboro, NC. He later moved to New York City, NY where he became employed with Otis Elevators until he later retired.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Helen Caesar and Margaret Mitchell.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Brown of the home; 7 sons, Craig, Reggie (Tonya), David, Lamont, Rodney, Walter, and Antonio; 4 daughters, Mary (Ronald), Marian, Crystal (Bobby), and LaVonda (John); 3 sisters, May Wilks, Flo Smith (Willie), and Martha Ann (Johnny); two brothers, Billy (Teresa) and Charles; two brothers-in-law, Winslow and Robert; and a host of grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30am Monday, September 8, 2014 at Praise Assembly Christian Center, 3254 Kernersville Rd. W-S, NC 27107. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 11:30am on Monday at the Church.
