Edna Catherine Cathcart, native of Roanoke, VA and a resident of Winston-Salem, NC was born July 22, 1936 to Aldred and Christine Anderson. She departed this earthly life on April 13, 2014 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.

She was a retired employee of Forsyth Medical Center.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred and Jimmy Lee Anderson; one sister, Lillie Mae Robinson; and two great-grandchildren, Artavius K. Jones and Latroya Renee Smith.

Surviving are her spouse, David Lee Cathcart; nine children, Warren A. Anderson, Stafford E. Anderson, Ronald E. (Tammy) Anderson, Constance A. (Gerald) Spencer, Kim L. Anderson, Monique S. (Edsel) Mashack, Rosalyn S. (Darryl) Ennis, Victoria E. (Jason) Marshall, and Thomas A. (Rachel) Pannell; 30 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bishop Walter (Mamie) Anderson, John Anderson, and Lucy (Albert) Hampton of Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11am Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Walter Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11am on Saturday at the Chapel.
