Mr. Eddie Coe Simmons, Jr. 62 departed this life on Friday, October 5, 2007.
He was born in Winston-Salem, NC on September 18, 1945 to Ola Mae and Eddie Coe Simmons, Sr.
He received his education in the public school system of Winston-Salem, NC and Philadelphia, PA. Afterwards Eddie entered the U.S. Army. Upon his commencement of the U.S. Army he was employed at R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. He maintained employment there for 26 years and then he retired.
On May 16, 1982 his was united in holy matrimony to Beverly Ann Brown.
Eddie was devoted to being a Mason and a faithful member of First Baptist Church. Whenever he had some down time, he enjoyed the sport of bowling.
He was preceded in death by his father, and his sister, Natalie M. Simmons.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Beverly Ann Simmons; two sons, Karlos Brown and Frederick Brown, Sr.; grandchildren, Taylor, Anna, Ahmon, and Frederick, Jr.; brothers and sisters, John Wesley Simmons, Gregory Simmons, Cordelia Morton, and Casey Green (Gina); two dear aunts, Mary Louis Simmons and Eudora Baity; a very special cousin, Eddie Leon Simmons; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday, October 12, 2007 from the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Todd Fulton officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 1pm on Friday at the Church
