Obituary

Earnestine Johnson Horne was born March 5, 1932 in Wadesboro, North Carolina, Anson County to David Johnson and Nezzie Gaddy Johnson.  She transitioned into glory on Sunday, June 2, 2019.

Earnestine attended Kingsville High School where she lettered in basketball.  She was the Head Majorette for the Kingsville High School Marching Band.  Earnestine furthered her education and received a certification is Cosmetology from Dudley School of Beauty.  She was a licensed daycare provider/director of "Gentle Care" In Home Day Care.

Ms. Horne was employed with The Bahnson Company as a machinist for 17 years until their closing.  She was then employed with the City of Winston-Salem where she retired following 10 years of loyal service.

As a young adult, Ms. Horne was a member and Sunday school teacher at Macedonia Baptist Church in Norwood, NC.  Later in Winston-Salem, NC, she became a devoted member of Christ Temple Church where she served faithfully for many years on the Usher Board under the leadership of Bishop Robert "Bob" Williams, Pastor Mike Lane and Pastor Leroy Kelly.

Earnestine was currently an active member and Church Mother of Ishi Temple Pentecostal Church serving on the Pastor Aid Committee under the leadership of Bishop Dr. Patrick L. Usher.

Mother Horne was preceded in death by her parents, David and Nezzie Johnson; her sisters, Lona Mae, Cora Mae, and Jestine; brothers, Paul, Jack, Rudolph, Pastor David Johnson, and Pastor Alec Johnson; and her son, Marvin Horne, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her most dear and precious memories five loving and devoted children, Foster (Bernard), Gale, Loretta, Anthony, and James; a brother, Nathaniel (Crystal); step-son, Kerry (Marcia) Snuggs: four grandchildren, Quentin Edward, Pilar (Anton), Marvin Horne, Jr., and Robin; eight great-grandchildren, Pachia, Quentin Alan, Camille, Keniah, Jzara, Charles, Zion, and Keona; cherished families, the Brown, Crumblin, Dudley, Gaddy, Hampton, Johnson, Lash, Myers, Shankle, Sullivan, Watkins, and the Ishi Temple Church Family; lifelong friends, Ollie B., Mattie, Mary, and Minister Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended dear family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Central Triad Church.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.  The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church.
