In the quiet of the afternoon on January 6, 2024 at the age of 85, God called home the beloved and sweet spirit of Earleen McKnight at Trellis Supportive Care in Winston-Salem, NC.
Earleen M. McKnight, daughter of the late Julius Griffin and Louise Mackey, was born in December of the year 1938. Earleen was a long time resident of Charlotte, NC. Later in life, she relocated to the Winston-Salem, NC area. There she was united in holy matrimony to John Clyde McKnight, III, her devoted husband and caregiver during her illness. She was also a gifted seamstress and used this skill to earn extra money while in school. Earleen worked briefly in New York as a hospital Dietician before deciding to return to the Charlotte area. She utilized her training upon her return in the field of food preparation. It was a field that she loved and showed great promise in. She loved sharing her culinary talents while running her café, while catering private events, business gatherings, as well as weddings. Her catering business was a true labor of love.

When the battle of life is over, and I am laid to rest, rejoice for me and praise the Lord for I am truly blessed. He gave me life, He gave me joy, He guided me all the way and when my life was at the end, He allowed me time to pray. So don't be sad because I am gone, for it is not the end. Be glad I was allowed to pray that I might see you again!
Private family services will be held.
