Mr. Earl Tyrone Broadnax was born on November 24, 1953 to the late Theopya Webber Broadnax-Boyce and the late Alvis Boaz Broadnax, Sr. Tyrone departed this life on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at his residence.
Tyrone spent his formative years in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he attended both Carver and East Forsyth High Schools. As a young adult he worked various positions in the manufacturing industry, spending a significant period of time working for Burlington Industries of Kernersville and D.D. Bean & Sons and Unifi of Madison, NC. After decades away, Tyrone returned to Winston-Salem with a new and improved outlook on life. He started a new career working with the City of Winston-Salem, met a very special friend, Ms. Roslin Thompson, and reconnected with his children and grandchildren. Having the opportunity to rebuild his family was a major highlight.
Tyrone was preceded in death by his father, Alvis Boaz Broadnax, Sr.; mother, Theopya Webber Broadnax-Boyce; and brother, Alvis "Chuckie" Boaz Broadnax Jr.
Left to celebrate his life and memory are a devoted father, William "Diamond" Boyce (Artenia) of Winston-Salem, NC; aunt, Beverly Broadnax-Gwathney of Chesapeake, VA; sister, Corvette Boyce Williamson (Arthur) of Whitsett, NC; sons, Jermaine McEachern of Winston-Salem, NC and Derrick Gibson (Jasmine) of Atlanta, GA; daughters, Nihya Russell (Clark) of Winston-Salem, NC, Crystal Broadnax of Greensboro, NC, Shenelle Carter of Reidsville, NC and Tia Broadnax of Greensboro, NC; fifteen grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew; and a host of relatives and many friends.
Tyrone was a jokester, loved to sing, and was often referred to as the "life of the party." He was always positive, upbeat, and had the ability to make anyone smile. He was truly loved by many and will be remembered as such.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend April Herring officiating. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Saturday at the Chapel.
