Obituary

Dwayne Lee Cochrane, born March 16, 1967, affectionately known as “Tinker,” departed this life on August 17, 2026. Dwayne attended Ephesus Junior Academy and graduated from Parkland High School. A lifelong learner with a curious mind, he was always eager to explore new ideas and opportunities. He furthered his education at Forsyth Technical Community College, where he studied Electrical Engineering.

Dwayne was a visionary businessman who turned his talents and determination into several successful ventures. He founded Tech Electronics, applying the knowledge and expertise he gained through his studies. He also established Boss Products 336, New Vibe Music, and Kicks Ave, each reflecting his creativity, ambition, and passion for innovation.

Beyond his entrepreneurial pursuits, Dwayne possessed a natural talent for drawing and a lifelong passion for learning, technology, and family history. However, few things brought him more happiness than cooking. He found comfort and purpose at the grill, where he expressed his creativity and love for others through food. In his later years, he returned to this passion while employed by Novant Health, where he took pride in serving others and doing what he loved most.

Dwayne was welcomed into eternal rest by his father, Horace Jacobs; his beloved grandparents, Vivian Lucinda Cochrane and Willie D. Cochrane; and his aunts and uncles, Rose Cochrane, Joseph & Rachel Penn, Sr., Helen Cochrane, Willie Cochrane, James Cochrane, and Raymond Cochrane, who preceded him in death.

Left to honor and cherish Dwayne's memory are his beloved son, Dwayne Cochrane, Jr.; his loving mother, Virginia Briscoe; his brothers, Thomas and James Cochrane; his aunts, Janie Harris and Delois Cochrane; his uncle, Robert Cochrane; his nieces and nephews, Demara Dodd, Ja'Mya Cochrane, Paula Crews, Savon Richburg, Kamar Cochrane, and Kai Cochrane; his cousins, Kevin Cochrane, Stephen Cochrane, Christopher Cochrane, Michelle Cochrane, Mary Arterbery, Stephanie White, Renee Barr, Jenee Penn, Joseph Penn, Miranda Cochrane, Jasmine Cochrane, Charles Cochrane, and Shawn Robinson; his dear family friend, Alphonso Rhymer; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Though Dwayne has departed from this earthly life, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His legacy of determination, creativity, generosity, and love will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Celebration of life services will be held at 11:30am Monday, August 31, 2026 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 11:30am on Monday at the Chapel.
