Mr. Douglas Emanuel Lee, son of Mr. Joe Louis Barnes and Mrs. Clara Jane Hodge, was born June 30, 1956 in Bluefield, West Virginia.

He attended schools in West Virginia as well as schools in Willingboro, New Jersey.  He worked as a truck driver for various companies in Winston-Salem, NC until his health declined.

On April 16, 2008 he was joined in holy matrimony to Christel Ann Pate.

On August 16, 2018, Douglas departed this life at his home.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories his wife, Christel Pate-Lee of the home; his mother, Mrs. Clara Jane (Earl) Hodge; his father, Mr. Joe Louis (Flora) Barnes; three sons, Douglas Jackson, Jr. of California, Christopher Emanuel Lee of Miami, FL, and Dallas Emanuel Lee of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Cynthia Isom of Atlanta, GA and Lillian Lee of New York; three brothers-in-law, Blake (Gail) Pate of Kernersville, NC, Allen Lee Pate, Jr. and Bryan Pate both of Lumberton, NC; four sisters-in-law, Iris (Steve) Bullock and April Pate both of Winston-Salem, NC and Lue Karen Pate and Sharon Pate both of Lumberton, NC; a special pet/friend, Mr. Harry Bentley; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00pm Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ireland officiating. The family visitation will be held from 3:00pm until 4:00pm on Thursday at the Chapel.
