Douglas MacArthur Clark, also known to his family as "Mac", was born July 11, 1942 in Anson County, NC to Herman Clark and Mrs. Bertha Clark. He departed this life on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 in Thomasville, NC.
MacArthur graduated from West Ansonville High School where he met and married the late Sarah Elizabeth Clark. They relocated to Baltimore, MD and later to Winston-Salem, NC where he retired from Winston-Salem Transit Authority.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Leroy "Roy" Clark, Herman Clark Jr., Alfred "Judge" Clark, & Joe Clark; and 2 sisters, Patrice Townsend and Margaret Ingram.
He leaves not to mourn, but to cherish the memories, five sons, Dwymond Clark, Douglas Clark, Dexter Clark, Darrick Clark, & Bruce (Sebrina) Ingram; three daughters, Evelyn Miller, Yvetta Glenn, & Valerie (Nathaniel) Ingram-Lorie; two brothers, Jonathan Clark of Norwood, NC and James Thomas Clark of Thomasville, NC; two sisters, Bernice Colson of Norwood, NC and Nadena Clark of Thomasville, NC; three grandsons; Eric Miller of Washington, DC, Derek Miller of Germany, and Jean-Luc; six aunts, Betty Smith of Detroit, MI, Leola Clark and Dorothy Hines of Norwood, NC, Marie Clark of Albemarle, NC, Mattie Clark of Ansonville, NC, and Sarah Clark of Oakboro, NC; three sisters-in-law, Creola Clark and Pam Clark of Norwood, NC, and Jonas "Sadie" Tillman of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30pm Friday, February 10, 2017 at St. Peters Church & World Outreach Center. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 12:30pm on Friday at the Church.
