Mrs. Dorothy Thompson Williams of 405 West 26 th Street went home to be with her heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. She was born July 7, 1937 in York, SC to the late Waddell and Stella McClain Thompson.
Mrs. Williams was a faithful member of St. John CME Church where she served on the Stewardess Board, Spiritual Choir, and Hospitality Committee. She helped anyone, always putting others before herself.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel Prophet Judge Williams, Sr.; her son, Donald Leon Williams; three brothers, Frank Thompson, Albert Thompson, and Waddell Thompson, Jr.; and two sisters, Nelsie Davis and Mamie Miller.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna Williams Bonner of Winston-Salem, NC; two Goddaughters, Valar Shaffner-McClellans of Kernersville, NC and Stacy Hairston of Winston-Salem, NC; three sons, Rev. Nathaniel Prophet Judge Williams, Jr. (Rev. Wanda Williams), Dr. Barry Williams, M.D. (Dr. Halimena Monteclarie Creque Williams, M.D.), all of Winston-Salem, NC and Herman Williams (Dr. Audrey Williams, PhD) of Cohutta, GA; one daughter-in-law, Rinita Williams of Greensboro, NC; two brothers, Fate (Nettie Mae) Thompson and Tommy (Mary) Thompson both of York, SC; five sisters, Mae Rose (Sammy) Brown, Elizabeth Williams, and Patricia Thompson all of York, SC, a devoted sister, Carrie Johnson of Rock Hill, SC, and a special sister, Lillian Thompson of Winston-Salem, NC; two special nephews, Tony (April) Thompson and Lydell Thompson both of Winston-Salem, NC; eight grandchildren, Nathaniel Prophet Judge (LaRhonda)Williams, III, Barry Neil Creque (Channing) Williams, Leah Creque (Stephen) Halstead, Brittany Marie (Theo) Moser, and Janie Catherine (William) Onumah all of Winston-Salem, NC, Elisa Nicole Fulp, Esq. (Joseph ) of Davidson, NC, Donald Lee (Delja) Williams of Fuquay-Varina, NC, and Taylor Williams of Greensboro, NC; seven great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Prophet Judge Williams, IV, Ayana Halstead, Marianna Williams, Christina Halstead, Joelle Marie Fulp, Zora Neil Williams, Joseph James Fulp, Jr., and Joshua Lee Fulp; two special friends, Mirrain Hairston and Betty Lowery of Winston-Salem, NC; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Russell Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at St. John CME Church with Rev. Dr. Valarie Tate Everette officiating and Rev. Christopher Manning eulogist. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Garden. The visitation will be held from 12:30pm-1:00pm on Wednesday at the Church.
