Our Mother, Daughter, Sister, Grandmother, Aunt and Friend who was "Blessed and Highly favored in the Lord" through it all, was called home to glory at her home on Monday October 20, 2014.
Dorothy Paulette Robinson, affectionately known as "Dot", age 56, was born on January 25, 1958 in W-S, NC to Lula Mae Gist Robinson and the late Robert Cornelius Robinson. She was educated in the W-S/FC Schools and attended Atkins High School and Forsyth Technical Community College. She was previously employed by Lilly's Janitorial Service.
Dot our beloved, was a god-fearing woman, a true testament of being a woman of great strength, a true fighter, the scripture seeker, an encourager, the life of the party, the junk talker, the shoulder you could cry or lean on, who was loved by all who had come in to contact with her. She was the rock of our family who had weathered many storms but always smiled through it all. Dot has certainly left an undeniable mark on this world as she is deeply loved by her kids, family, and friends.
She was a very loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Her greatest accomplishment was being a devoted and phenomenal grandmother to her grandchildren, Jaliel, Khalil, Kaleik, Akiree and Jamil Jr. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She grew up in the Kimberly Park Community aka "BDP" and to know her was to love her. Dot was seated with Christ in Victory here on earth but is now sitting with him at his right side and is more than a conqueror.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Robinson and Darryl Robinson.
Dot leaves to cherish her memories her two daughters, Kisha Robinson and Walidah Robinson; one son, Jamil E. Robinson; five grandchildren, Jamil, Jr., Jaliel, Kaleik, Khalil and Akiree; her mother, Lula Mae Robinson; one sister, Brenda Robinson; two brothers, Reggie Robinson and Ike Robinson; a devoted son-in-law "her riding partner" Kai Dowell; devoted friend, John Strothers; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, in-laws, other family and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2pm Monday, October 27, 2014 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel, 822 Carl Russell Avenue, WS, NC with Bishop Donald Keaton officiating. The family visitation will be held from 1pm until 2pm on Monday at the Chapel.
