Dorothy Robinson Miller, beloved wife, mother, and granny was born in Florence, South Carolina on March 7, 1942. Dorothy was the oldest child of the late Rudolph Robinson and Lillie Mae Robinson. Dorothy entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 15, 2024. She was educated in the public schools. Her career path consisted of over 30 years at Sunshine House as a Nutritionist and Health/Safety Coordinator, ten years at Graylyn Estate, and she was a phenomenal cook at the Bell Brothers restaurant.
Her life was well lived with dutiful services for over 45 years as a faithful and devoted member of New Trinity Baptist Church. She served as the Church Clerk; and she was an Usher and Pastor's Aid member. Dorothy also enjoyed church, walking, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert Hoover Miller; and one brother, Randolph Robinson.
Left to celebrate her memory are three sons, Albert (Debora) Miller, Jr., Wayne Miller, and Roddrick (Tanya) Miller; and her daughter, Teresa (Roger) Simmons. Dorothy will be missed by her seven grandchildren Marshall (Larie) Miller, Lanette Miller, Perry Cuthrell, Roddrick Miller, II, Edunte Miller, Atronia Miller, and Wanisha (Kedrick) McIlwaine; 13 great-grandchildren Ayanna Miller, Kalie Miller, Payden Cuthrell, Chace Curthrell, Layla Miller, Skyler Miller, Carter Miller, Asia'h Miller, Akhemi Miller, Jaylen McIlwaine, Nebria McIlwaine, Janaiya McIlwaine; one brother, Roosevelt (Madgalene) Robinson; and one brother-in-law, Richard (Ernestine) Miller, Sr. Dorothy had a special cousin and confidant, Helen Fair Covington. Dorothy also leaves to cherish her memory a host of other relatives, church family, and friends.
There will be no public viewing at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Monday, September 23, 2024 at Holy Trinity Baptist Church with Reverend Joseph Miller officiating. Entombment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Monday at the Church.
