Dorothy Mae Miller, the daughter of the late Clyburn, Sr. and Bessie Mae Martin was born February 4, 1950 in Columbia, SC. Later in 1950, her parents moved to Baltimore, MD where she attended Fleming Elementary, Bragg Elementary, Sollers Point Jr. High and graduated June 1968 from Dundalk Sr. High School.
She was a member of Greater St. John Baptist Church,2 nd Congregation, Believers Chapel, Bible Fellowship Chapel Church, and Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church.
In August 1971 she married Carlos Manning, Sr. and they had 3 loving children. She later married her beloved Rudolph Miller on December 7, 2013.
During her lifetime she worked at Fort Howard Veterans Hospital, Vocation Services Program at BWI Airport, Proctor and Gamble, WW Electric Co, Chimes at BWI Airport, and Safe Guard.
Dorothy was a talented seamstress and cook. She loved to garden and exercise. She was widely known as a great cook and baker. She was a quiet yet serious woman who did not take any nonsense from anyone. To her loving children her favorite saying was about the grands, "Ya'll take care of my babies." She loved them so much.
She is survived by her loving husband, Rudolph Miller; 3 children, Anita (Warren) Lawson, Carlos Manning, Jr., and Lolita Manning (Sean); 10 grandchildren (all girls); 2 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters and 3 brothers, Bettie Martin, Mary (Delbert) Strawther, Sr., Clyburn Martin, Jr., Eric Martin, and Michael Martin; a God-sister, Michelle Williams; Goddaughter, Cheisa Howard; aunts, Henrietta Reed and Susie Mae Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm-6:00pm Friday, April 9, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home. Private services will be held Saturday, April 10, 2021. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
