Dorothy Louise Watson Jones was born in Augusta, Georgia on September 11, 1938.  She was reared by her parents, Lowell B. and Katie Mae Smiley Robinson.  She gained her heavenly wings on Monday, February 17, 2020.

Dorothy lived in Winston-Salem, NC for most of her life, graduating from Atkins High School in 1955.   Dorothy then began working in dietary at Kate B. Reynolds Hospital and then transferred to Forsyth Medical Center, where she ultimately retired after 38 years of dedicated service.  Over the years, she became "Mom" to many, always willing to lend a listening ear or to give heartfelt advice.  She was loved by all that knew her.

Dorothy was a longtime member of Hanes Memorial CME Church where she was part of the Creative Club and served on the kitchen staff.

She loved her family and was always willing to do whatever was needed to support her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  But beyond that, what she enjoyed most was spending time on her front porch, willingly offering a smile or a wave to everyone who passed by.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her loving husband of 45 years, Willie Jones, Jr.; sons, Lannis Howard, Marvin (Michelle) James, and Anthony (Karen) Jones; daughters, Sharron (Malcom) Lewis, Pamela James, and Robin Jones; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Mary Pauling and Adrian Hines; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, February 21, 2020 at Hanes Memorial CME Church with Reverend Clarence Cox, III officiating.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Friday at the Church.
