Dorothy M. Archie of 839 Camel Avenue W-S, NC began her eternal rest on December 7, 2015 at The Oaks at Forsyth Nursing Home.

Mrs. Archie was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 8, 1927 to Laban and Mabel Hanks. She attended the local public schools of Forsyth County, NC, Winston-Salem Teachers College, and Wake Forest University. She was a teacher with the WS/FCS System and was a devoted member of Hanes Memorial CME Church where she was active on the choir.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Cromas Archie, Sr.

Her memories will forever be cherished by her devoted children, Allen and Bernard Archie; brother, Robert Adams; loving sister, Lossie Matthews; grandson, Alphonso Washington; a loving and devoted friend, Betty Miller; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Hanes Memorial CME Church with Reverend Clarence W. Cox, III officiating. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Wednesday at the Church.
