Mrs. Doris Loretta Sherard Morrison, 85, was born November 9, 1932 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late John and Mary Sherard. She peacefully departed this life on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center.

She was a graduate of Atkins High School and attended Winston-Salem State University. She retired from Forsyth Medical Center after over 20 years of service.

Doris was an avid bid whist player and she loved flowers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Morrison, Sr.; her sons, Charles Morrison, Jr. (Sylvia) and Tony Morrison; and her nine siblings.

She leaves to cherish wonderful memories her daughters, Mary (Kevin) Bethea and Irma Taylor; grandchildren, Dexter (Jacqueline) Lowe, Loretta Lowe, Rommel (Leigh) Morrison, Marlon Morrison, Erica Cousin, Jason Taylor, LaKisha (Kevin) Sturgues, Linda McKnight, and Jabari Taylor-Reid; sister-in-law, Rosella Mebane; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Todd Fulton officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Wednesday at the Chapel.
