On July 3, 1936 God so graciously blessed us with a wonderful, loving, and devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and wife, Mrs. Doretha Fair Marshall, who departed this life on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center.
Mrs. Doretha Marshall attended Winston-Salem Teachers College in which she received a Nursing pin. She also received a degree in business from Russell's School of Business. Mrs. Marshall was a devoted employee of Lucent Technology in which she retired after 30 years of service.
Mrs. Marshall has been a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for over 30 years, where she was an active member of the Frances Adams Missionary and the Delores Everett Bible Class.
Mrs. Marshall was preceded in death by her parents, Evelina and Waddell Fair, Sr.; four brothers, Waddell A. Fair, Jr., James E. Brown, Abraham Lee Fair, and Luther A. Fair, Sr.; and two sisters, Idamae Fair Petree and Olivia Fair Staten.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted husband of 58 years, Henry T. "THOM" Marshall, Sr.; two devoted children, Lori M. Lumpkin and Henry "JUNE" (Denise) Marshall, Jr.; six grandchildren, Shretha Jennings, Love Jennings, Ashleigh Lumpkin (Gary) Stevens, Crystal Marshall, Kenneth (Jodi) Jones, and Sorrel Haliburton; five great-grandchildren who she loved dearly, Shawn Vargas, Jr., Lamont Jackson, Jr., Charles Roberts, III, Kingston Haliburton, and Princeton Haliburton; she also leaves a loving and caring brother, William L. "WILLIE" Fair, Sr. and sister, Helen Fair (Archie) Covington; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. John Mendez officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory Walkertown, NC. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 12noon on Tuesday at the Church.
