Mrs. Doretha Edwards Jackson, 65, was born August 1, 1946 at Kate Bitting Hospital to Willie Rhinehart and Myrtle Edwards. She passed away August 7, 2011.She was educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Public Schools. Mrs. Jackson was employed by RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company and also as a homemaker. She was a member of White Rock Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Laura Wolfe; and three brothers, Donald Rhinehart, James Edwards, and Thomas Edwards.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by her husband of 33 years, Charles Jackson; sisters, Myrtle Warren, Geraldine Warren, and Reola Simpson; one brother, Author Warren; one aunt, Lula Edwards; step-daughter, Sophy (Pastor Norman, Sr.) Carter; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, August 13, 2011 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Norman K. Carter, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 12noon on Saturday at the Chapel.
