Mr. Donny Ray Murray, 50 of 1930 Clover Trail Drive passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at the Wake Forest University/Baptist Medical Center.
He was born August 4, 1959 in Haywood County, NC to James H. and Martha Murray. Donny was a 1977 graduate of Pisgah High School in Canton, NC and attended Winston-Salem State University where he played football for three years. He was employed by with ABC Stores of Winston-Salem, NC for 29 years and was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Billie Debra Murray of the home; two daughters, Tiffany and Natasha Murray of the home; his mother, Martha Murray of Canton, NC; two sisters, Gloria J. Murray of Canton, NC and Patricia (Nathaniel) Holiday of Winston-Salem, NC; three aunts, Valarie (Edward) Burton of Asheville, NC, Winona Walker of Canton, NC, and Mary Johnson of Queens, NC; one uncle, Joe Conley of Canton, NC; his in-laws, Billy (Malzina) Hairston; Mary (Jimmy) Scott, Tangela (Mike) Rose, and Jane Percival all of Walkertown, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, September 5, 2009 from the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. The family visitation will be held from 12Noon until 1pm on Saturday at the Church.
