Donna Miller Golden gained her wings on Sunday, December 24, 2017.

Donna Mae Miller was born in Forsyth County on February 22, 1940 to the late Ethel Kimbrough Miller and the late Royal Eugene Miller, Sr.  She was raised by her late aunt and uncle, Ella and Wilmer Green "Auntie and Uncle Bill". She attended Forsyth County schools, graduating from Carver High School in 1957, where she was Miss Carver High.  Donna married Hinton Golden "Jim" in 1958 and now joins him in heaven. They had two children, Dedra Golden Malloy and Dana Golden.

Donna worked over 20 years at Western Electric / AT&T before retiring from Hanesbrands. She was active in the United Methodist Women, serving at both the local and district level. She was on the St. James UMC Administrative Council, serving in many capacities, including PPR chair, Witness Ministries and as Sunday School Superintendent. She was a Girl Scout troop leader and also volunteered with the National Black Theatre Festival, Democratic Party and Obama campaigns.

In addition to her daughters, she leaves to mourn, her brother, Royal Miller Jr.; grandchildren, Brittany Malloy, Brooke Malloy, Bianca Malloy, Zara Golden and Zachary Golden; one great-grandson Corey McCann Jr. "CJ"; and foster brother, Rodney Davis; Donna also leaves her many cousins, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends, including Mary Debnam, Helen Glenn, Vernell Miller Dalton and Valeria Blue; Last but not least, she also leaves behind her constant companion and special puppy, Layla.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, December 30, 2017 at St. James United Methodist Church, Rural Hall, NC with Dr. Paul Perkins officiating.  Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Saturday at the Church.
