Mr. Donald "Duck" Simpson was born September 28, 1961 in Winston-Salem, NC to Earl Simpson and Rosena Gist Simpson. He departed this life on November 23, 2012.

He graduated from RJ Reynolds High School. He worked at Douglas Battery while pursuing his Body Building Career and Weight Lifting Career. His professional career included many titles, 1992 Iron Master Bench Press, 1993 Team USA, 1993 in Clemson, SC he was crowned the Strongest Man in SC and the SC King of the Bench.
He was sponsored by Le Bleu Water Company and enjoyed a successful weightlifting and bodybuilding career.

He was preceded in death by his father; two sisters; and two brothers.

He leaves to cherish his memories his mother Rosena Simpson; three sisters, Joyce (Roosevelt) Brooks, Rose (Hiawatha) Gist, and Sandra Simpson; six brothers, Earl Simpson, Jr., Jessie (Sylvia) Simpson, Leonard (Donna) Simpson, Timothy Simpson, Norvell Simpson, and Harry (Sheila) Simpson; two aunts, Annie Mae Gaston and Helen Hayes; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Union Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Konnie G. Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Thursday at the Church.
