Donald Gray Lowery, 72, of 4850 Murray Road, Winston-Salem, North Carolina was born on February 25, 1944 in Kernersville, North Carolina to Frank Lowery and Beulah Fulton Lowery.

He worked continuously until he retired from his job with the State of North Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Wilbur E. Lowery.

He is survived by two daughters, LaDonna (Jamie) Lowery-Ebron and Tisha (Gregory) Gardner both of Washington, North Carolina; one son, David Alexander Blair of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; two brothers, Arnold Lowery of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Roger (Juanita) Lowery of Greensboro, North Carolina; one sister, Willie (Leroy) Townsend of Kernersville, North Carolina; his devoted lifelong companion, Bertha Coleman of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; eight grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Monday, August 29, 2016 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 1:30pm until 2:00pm on Monday at the Chapel.
