Mr. Donald Glenn Johnson passed away Monday morning, October 3, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Winston-Salem, NC on March 13, 1943 to the late Mary Allen Johnson and Thomas J. Johnson Jr.
Donald graduated from Atkins High School in 1962, attended Winston-Salem State University, and was a veteran of the United States Army.
He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of forty-four years, Kay C. Johnson; his son, Donald G. Johnson Jr. of Winston-Salem; his daughter, Katrina L. Speas-McCoy (Eric) of Navarre, FL; six grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Friday, October 7, 2011 at New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Kendall D. Jones, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Friday at the Church.
