Obituary

Dimple Chambers Warren, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 22, 2016. She was born on June 9, 1926 to John and Inez Chambers in Kernersville, NC.

Dimple was educated in the Forsyth County School System. She was a graduate of Carver High School. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Winston-Salem Teachers College in 1950. Later she received her Master's Degree in Elementary Education from North Carolina A&T State University. Dimple was a passionate and dedicated educator in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System until her retirement in July 1983.

Dimple was a lifelong member and faithful servant of Providence Baptist Church in Kernersville. She was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. - Nu Tau Zeta Chapter. She also served as a Worship Leader for the Forsyth County Missionary Union and she volunteered at the Shepherd Center of Kernersville.

Dimple was preceded in death by her parents, John & Inez Chambers; brothers, Monroe, Gilbert, John Olin, Bernard and Van Chambers; and sisters, Geneva C. Brooks, Gresley Chambers and Mozelle C. Warren.

She is survived by her loving husband, Clarence Odell Warren; a sister, Mrs. Lucille Chambers Warren of Kernersville, NC; a daughter, Alecia Chambers Harvey (Alfred) of Winston-Salem, NC; granddaughters, Yazhmin Price (Idrissa) of Charlotte, N C., Jihan and Kia Harvey of Winston-Salem, NC; great-grandson, Khalil Price of Charlotte, NC; four sisters-in-law, Evelyn Warren of Greensboro, NC, Alta Mae Simmons of Stokesdale, NC, Olivia Martin of Redding, PA, and Grace Chambers of Jacksonville, FL; one brother-in-law, Andrew Warren of Long Beach, CA; there were several nieces and nephews reared in the home place, amongst them, Phyllis McNeil, James Robert, Webster and Carl Chambers; a special friend, Juanita B. Penn; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will take place at 1:00pm Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Providence Baptist Church, 319 Nelson Street Kernersville, NC with Pastor Keith Vereen officiating. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory, Kernersville, NC. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Saturday at the Church.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.
