Dianne L. Ross was born September 11, 1941 in Winston-Salem, NC. She was called home on May 31, 2012 to live eternally with the Lord.

he was educated in the Winston-Salem public school system, a graduate of Atkins High School Class of 1959. She retired from Forsyth Medical Center as a dietary aide. Mrs. Ross was a faithful member and servant of First Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as president of the nurse's ministry. Her civic affiliations include the Past Worthy Matron of Magnolia Chapter #168 Order of the Eastern Star, Scottish Rite affiliated, and Vice Daughter Ruler of the Garden of Iris Temple #220, Progressive Council, state usher, and a member of the Red Hat Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ephriam and Ruby E. Byrd; and her daughter, Tevetta Moser.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Valjean Byrd; grandson, Monte' Byrd; brother, Bernard Byrd all of Winston-Salem, NC; three nieces, Tam Davis (Peter) of Chesterfield, VA, Tonya Byrd of Midlothian, VA, and Tavonda Coad of Winston-Salem, NC; a devoted cousin/sister, Geneva Holman of Atlanta, GA; a special friend, Fredrick F. Blackburne of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 1pm Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at First Calvary Baptist Church with Bishop Joseph Lowery officiating. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1pm on Wednesday at the Church.
