It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Devaun Gadson, affectionately known as "Paint/Pint/PittyPaint". He left this world on March 1, 2025 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, age 32.  Devaun was born on March 12, 1992 in Winston-Salem, NC to his loving mother, Yvonne Gadson.

At an early age he joined Antioch Christian Church.  Devaun was a bright and talented individual who attended Simon G. Atkins Academic and Technology High School, graduating in 2011.  He went on to further his education at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University where he graduated in 2020 with a degree in technology engineering.

Devaun had a passion for technology and was known for his skills in repairing phones, computers, and electronics.  He also had a love for playing his Playstation.  He could often be found visiting the flea market, searching for hidden treasures and unique finds.  Despite his love for technology, Devaun never had any children of his own.  He dedicated his life to his work and hobbies, bringing joy to those around him with his witty sense of humor and infectious laughter.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Yvonne Gadson of Winston-Salem, NC; three brothers, his twin- Deshaun Gadson of Decatur, GA, Rodney Gadson and Levonne Gadson both of Winston-Salem, NC; four aunts, Ernestine Treadwell of Winston-Salem, NC, Johnnie Mae Rhymer of Columbia, SC, Angela Gadson of Winston-Salem, NC, and Charlene Bailey of Charlotte, NC; two uncles, Ernest Gadson and John Burns both of Winston-Salem, NC; his very devoted great-aunt, Patricia Thompson and his favorite cousin, Debra Ferrell both of Winston-Salem, NC; his best friends, Aaron Carter, Johnny Joyce, and Jersey; he was blessed with five nieces; one nephew; two great-nephews; two great-nieces; thirteen cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Devaun will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.  May he rest in peace, knowing that he brought light and laughter to the world during his time with us.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, March 7, 2025 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.  The family visitation will be held from 1:30pm until 2:00pm on Saturday at the Chapel.  Interment will be held at 1:00pm Monday, March 10, 2025 in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
