DeQuincy Currence, aka "Quincy", 84, was born September 26, 1934 in York, SC to the late John Andy and Clara Currence. He departed his earthly life on early Thursday morning, May 16, 2019 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after battling cancer for several years.
Quincy served in the United States Army and afterwards was employed and retired from RJ Reynolds after 30 years of service. He was also employed by Sunrise Methodist Church for many years.
He was an avid early morning walker, golfer, and bowler serving on various teams and leagues. His greatest pride was cleaning his vehicles and working in his yard to produce a well-groomed lawn with beautiful flowers which were admired and enjoyed by many neighbors and friends.
Quincy leaves to cherish his memory two sisters, Tshara LF D'Das (Margie) and Dorthy Currence; sister-in-law, Louise Currence; his kindness and love will forever be cherished by his devoted life companion, Sharon Eaton; daughter, LaTreta Bethea (Willie); granddaughter, Jainiya Bethea; as well as all of her family members; Quincy loved and was loved by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and forever friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00noon on Saturday at the Chapel.
