Denise J. Porter, daughter of the late Carolyn Olivia Clark was born on November 20, 1963 in Brooklyn, NY. Denise was an only child. She graduated from Evander Childs High School in Bronx. She met the love of her life, Jonathan Tyrone Porter in grade school, the two married on February 1, 1985. Their first child was born in 1987, Jamel Daniel Porter in Bronx, NY.

The couple welcomed their second son, Justin Darnell Porter in 1991. Their growing family prompted Denise and Jonathan to move to Kernersville, North Carolina. Shortly after moving to NC they welcomed their third child, Desiree Jasmine Porter. Denise felt fulfilled supporting her husband and three children through life as an accomplished homemaker.

Denise joined Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Winston Salem, NC on April 4, 2010; alongside her mother, Carolyn Olivia Clark; husband, Jonathan Porter; and her two children, Justin and Desiree Porter.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn O. Clark who was called home February 21, 2017.

Denise leaves behind her life's work her husband, Jonathan T. Porter; three children, Jamel, Justin, and Desiree Porter; son-in-law, Cedric Garcia; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Dennis Leach officiating.  The family visitation will be held from 2:00pm until 2:30pm on Sunday at the Church.
