Dempsey Bullock, "Duke" as he was affectionately called by loved ones, was at home in every country where he lived during his lifetime of travels around the world.  Dempsey's love for travel began with service to his country in the U S Navy, from which he was honorably discharged. This training led to a career as a Merchant Seaman from which he retired before returning here. While working and traveling Dempsey cultivated his passion for music: vocals, jazz and contemporary being his favorites.  He often spent time gigging with such Big Band greats as   Billy Eckstine, Miles Davis and Lena Horne.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jerry Bullock; and the former love of his life his wife, Dolores B. McGee.

Surviving are his children, Michael Bullock, Pamela Towler, Gayle Bullock, Tanya (Willie) Johnson of Detroit, MI, and Dorian Hairston of Philadelphia, PA; sister, Vivian Maynard of NYC; grandchildren, Mark Towler, Tawanna, Temesha, Michelle, Tracey, De'Ano, April, Summer, and Terrance; several great and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Beyond this Dempsey was also a barber, an avid golfer, great conversationalist and fun loving person. Keeping in the tradition of his love for music and staying active, prior to failing health he sang with the choir at Shouse Temple CME Church and worked in security at Integon Corporation.

A memorial service will be held in Spring 2018 at Voice of Truth Ministries.
