Mrs. Delores Mackey Lomax of Winston Salem, NC transitioned to her heavenly on October 14, 2023. Born January 17, 1950, to the late Inez Tate and Robert Mackey. Delores had a huge heart and deep love for all her children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. She graduated from North Forsyth High School and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in 2007 after 30 years of service.

She served the community as an employee of Beasley Funeral Home where she took pride in comforting families during their time of loss. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family every Sunday for dinner, watching her soap operas, Law & Order and SVU. She was a dedicated member at Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church where she faithfully served on the Usher Board.

Delores was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy Lomax; and her brother, Walter Tate.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her children, Tammy Coleman, Cynthia Jones, Robert Bell, Stephania Bell, and Jimmy Lomax Jr. (Ann); her grandchildren, Michael Noble Jr., Waynetta Coleman- Nunn (Mike), Ce'Darius Noble, Cedric Myers, Nijah Bowman, and Barry Bowman, Jr., Shamanda Bell, Chris Bell, and Robert Bell, Jr.; her great grandchildren, Jasiyah Coleman, Calvin Moore, Jr., Alessandra Lavin, Darrien Stevenson, Adrien Stevenson, and Ryien Stevenson; her sister, Eva Mae Tate; her brothers Johnny Mackey (Gwendolyn) and Larenzo Tate; special daughter, Cheryl Carter; and best friend, Charlene Woods; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, October 20, 2023 at Solid Rock Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory, Walkertown, NC.  The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Friday at the Church.
