Mrs. Delores C. Humes, 82 of 838 Cassell St. passed away October 10, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Winston-Salem, NC on September 5, 1929 to the late Otis Crump and Betty Coles Crump.
She worked and lived in Washington, DC and retired from St. Elizabeth's Hospital after 30 years of service.
She returned to Winston-Salem where she was a faithful and devoted member of Praise Assembly Church Ministries, Inc.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kevyn Humes.
She is survived by three children, Larry (Juanita) Crump, Samuel (Helen) Humes, and Leonardo Humes; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one sister, Betty McLean; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Praise Assembly Church Ministries, Inc., 3254 Kernersville Road W-S, NC with Reverend Dr. Johnny York officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church.
