Delores E. Brown, 68, entered heavens gates on Sunday, May 9, 2021. She was born on January 15, 1953 to Jay Conner and Eunice Evans. Delores was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her former employers included Lucia, Wake Forest Baptist Hospital and Novant Health before retirement. Delores graduated from RJ Reynolds High School in Winston Salem, NC.
Delores was proud to serve God. She was a prayer warrior and intercessor. In the mid-night hours, she could be found calling out the names of those she was interceding on behalf of. She prayed for her husband, children, grandchildren and upward to the leaders of our nation to be covered in this world and was never ashamed of her love for God.
Delores stayed up on current events. At times she could be jokingly called, "CNN Sister" because she stayed up to date with the happenings of the world. She enjoyed making her daily hot tea, summertime spent on the deck and just staying in connection with her close friends and family.
Awaiting her arrival are her mother, Eunice Evans; father, Jay Conner; two brothers, Howard Cuthrell, Jr., Ted Cuthrell; and three sisters, Eunice Ingram, Betty Cuthrell, and Joanne C. Wilkins.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 45+ years, Cleveland Brown, Sr.; sons, Cleveland Brown, Jr. and Darrell Garner; and one daughter, Krisha M. Brown. Delores also leaves behind her seven siblings, Ned Cuthrell, Kay Harris, Mildred McMullen, Deborah Evans, Lillian Evans, Beulah Evans, and Jerry Evans. Delores leaves her God loving & God-fearing spirit to her granddaughters, A'Niyah N. Brown, Aalayah S. Kimbrough, and Alani D Kimbrough. She also leaves a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, bonus sons/daughters, and friends….whom she loved so very much.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 6:00pm Friday, May 14, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home.
Private funeral services will be held Saturday, May 15, 2021.
