Obituary

Mrs. De'Lisa Carter Satterfield, 54, of 111 Hutton Street passed away on Friday, August 31, 2007 at the Wake Forest University/Baptist Medical Center. She was born February 3, 1953 in Winston-Salem, NC. She attended the local public schools and graduated form North Forsyth High School.

De'Lisa was a former member of Gethsemane Hope Missionary Baptist Church and a current member of Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church. She had a passion for kids and enjoyed her job at the Children's Home for a number of years. She blessed others with her big, beautiful smile and she loved people. De'Lisa always demonstrated great love and respect for the elderly and children. She showed a passion for assisting others in need and it wasn't a person that she came in contact with that she didn't consider a friend.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Napoleon Carter, Sr. and one brother, Ernest Napoleon Carter, Jr.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Arthur Satterfield of the home; one son, Rev. Waymon (Leola) Monroe, Jr.; two daughters, Jenarry Rhem of Winston-Salem, NC and Keisha Satterfield on Roxboro, NC; her mother, Minister Ozella Cato of Winston-Salem, NC; three sisters, Sandra (Cliff) Lynch, Ernestine (Derrick) Slade, and Angela (Mike) Rice all of Winston-Salem, NC; one brother, Timothy Earl (Gayle) Carter of Winston-Salem, NC; four grandchildren, Antonio Hill, Miosha Monroe, Alexis Francois and Cameron Satterfield; four aunts, Nellie Naylor of Detroit, MI, Cherry Hawkins of New Jersey, and Alice Carter and Mary Watson both of Winston-Salem, NC; devoted friends, Regina Williams, Tammy Hutchins, Saundra Stone, Waymon (Deborah) Monroe, Sr. and Hazel Hollingsworth; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday, September 7, 2007 from Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Charles Leak officiating and Reverend Ernest McLaurin eulogist. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from noon until 1pm on Friday at the Church.
