Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Deborah Arlenia Massey Anderson on August 22, 2023, at 64 years old. Deborah was born on April 16, 1959 and she brought compassion, wisdom and lots of laughter into the lives of those she touched. She was the "LIFE OF THE PARTY". She loved everyone in her life and made everyone feel welcomed and loved. She loved to sing and do a quick spin to any of favorite jams.

Deborah was educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Public Schools where she graduated from Parkland High School. She started a career in computer technology at Winston-Salem Healthcare. She later switched careers to customer service where she worked as an administrative professional at the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce, Convention and Visitors Bureau of Winston-Salem, and a plethora of other offices and companies.

Deborah will be dearly missed by her family and friends, who will forever cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jamila Allah.

She leaves to cherish her beautiful beloved daughters Precious Anderson and Aisha Council (Chris); her husband, Roscoe Anderson; her father, Rauf Allah; her brother, Melvin Massey, Jr. (Cynthia); her nephew, Dimitric Massey; nieces, Jania Massey, Serenitye Taylor (Carlin), Jade Chenault (Tyrin), and Princess Massey; great-nieces, MeKaylah, Destiny, and Kenadee Massey, Riley Chenault, and Eliana Taylor; great-nephew, Taj Chenault.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Monday, August 28, 2023 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation and public viewing will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Monday at the Chapel. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and share their memories.

The family kindly requests all flowers be sent to Russell's Funeral Home.

May Deborah's soul find eternal peace, and may her memory live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.  The family will meet with friends and extended family at her home.

Rest in peace,

"To thine own self be true"
