Ms. DeArcia Young, affectionately called "Ms. Dee", was born on October 2, 1955 at Kate Bitting Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Winston-Salem, NC,  to Annie and John Henry McIlwaine. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on May 10, 2024.

Our mother attended the local public schools and graduated from West Forsyth High School.  She later attended Winslam Business College.

Ms. Young was a faithful member of the Shiloh Baptist Church where she served on the Senior Usher's Ministry until her health begin to decline.

Ms. Young was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Roland Young and Donnie Young.

She leaves to cherish most dear and precious memories two daughters, Sharina Chisholm (Daryl) and Sharrika Kellum (Martin);  two granddaughters, DeKayla and Kenadee;  two grandsons, Martin and Ahmad; six sisters, Jackie Young, Patricia Covington, Sylvia Johnson, Roberta Jeter, DeKota Clayton (Romeo), and Denita McIlwaine; one brother, Cedric McIlwaine (Shirley); and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends whom she loved dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Monday, May 20, 2024 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Dr. Paul A. Lowe, Jr. officiating.  Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. The family visitation and public viewing will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Monday at the Church.
