Deacon Frank Evans, 70 of 5143 Mount Hope Drive, the son of Troy and Adlene Evans was born March 28, 1938 in Dillon County, SC. He departed from this life Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center.
He was employed by the City of Winston-Salem for many years before retiring in 1999 and was a member of Union Baptist Church for over 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Deacon Evans leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Elizabeth J. Evans; two daughters, Chiquita D. Evans of Winston-Salem, NC and Marilyn I. (Robert) Barr of Clemmons, NC; two sons, Frank R. and James R. Evans both of Winston-Salem, NC; eleven precious grandchildren, Kionna M. and Kenya D. Evans, Kiwonna L. Gray, Robert N. and Kristen N. Barr, Eric and Mya Sinclair, and Yasmine, Bobby, Jr., Kahlil, and Jeremiah Allen; five precious great-grandchildren, Jayard Little, Jayden Evans, MyNautia Moore, TraQuan and Heaven Gray all of Winston-Salem, NC; two devoted brothers, James W. Evans and Quincy (Gwen) both of Latta, SC; one devoted sisters, Annie Louise Eaddy; a devoted best friend, Charles Peoples; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Monday, May 19, 2008 from the Union Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Sir Walter Mack, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from Noon until 1pm on Monday at the Church.
