Obituary
Mr. Davis O. Archie, Sr. of 205 Walkertown, Avenue, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on October 7, 1937 in Chester, SC to James and Armeter Archie.
He was a graduate of Atkins High School, where he was an outstanding basketball player, and he attended A&T State University.
Mr. Archie was a retired employee of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. He was of the Baptist faith and was a veteran of the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his two brothers, Mr. George W. Archie, Sr. and Mr. James Archie, Sr.
Mr. Archie is survived by his wife, Mae Cunningham Archie; one son, David O. Archie, Sr.; one step son, Michael Cunningham; three grandsons, David O. Archie, III., Stephen Dunlap, and Michael Cunningham, Jr.; one granddaughter, Dion Williams; two devoted cousins, Richard and Emma Landrum of Winston-Salem, NC and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at 1:00 PM from the St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend J.R. Samuels officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12 NOON until 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the Church.
