David Richardson Wilson Jr. was born to Dr. David R. and Louise G. Wilson on June 22, 1949 in Bristol, TN. He was the first son of five children. He attended St. Benedict's Elementary, graduated from Atkins High in 1967, and earned a Bachelor's Degree from Winston-Salem State University in 1973.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his youngest brother, Fredrick Scott Wilson; and his infant grandson, Jeremiah Brooks.

He is survived by daughters, Shannon W. Brooks (Steve} and Jamila F. Stover; sisters, Edith W. Butler and Lynette Wilson; and one brother, Charles C. Wilson (Juanita); grandson, Isaiah Brooks; nephew, Ronald Jennings Jr. (Calista}; two great nephews; cousins, and other relatives; also devoted friend and former spouse, Evelyn P. Wilson will be cherished for her concern and tireless assistance to Dave and our family.

Dave "Rahim" has a family of friends who loved him and will miss him as much as his kin. True friendship is love beyond compare. Tommy Baldwin and his entire family, Mary Louise Diggs and Janifer D. Claytor, Future Williams, Mabel, Myra, Ernestine, Jackie, Romy, Pam, Munirah and the Razzak/ Pearson family, and Mike and many others that may not be listed here have all shared old and new memories with Dave. He leaves an empty space in our lives but we are still full of memories to last our lifetimes.

In the twinkling of an eye, Dave left this world and entered into eternal repose. On March 3, 2009 he answered his call to accept God's will, mercy, and grace.

Final rites will be held at 11am Saturday, March 7, 2009 in Evergreen Cemetery. The family and friends visitation will be held at 10am Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Russell Funeral Home.
